Come the weekend. You get ready meet up with all your friends and do the same, old tired thing you did last weekend, and the weekend before that. It all gets a bit boring after a while.

Why not try to spice up your social scene, by hosting a black and white theme party, theme parties are a great way to get friends together and do something really different. Plus they are not only lots of fun to attend, but also to plan.

 

1. Invitations. It is so simple to e-mail all your friends, and it is  good idea to spend time making your invite special. This gives you the opportunity to add extra information as to what to wear , what to bring, time to arrive, time the party ends.
2. Decorations. Try to use black&white for all the party decorations to keep the theme going. Maybe run an old Black&White movie when your guests arrive. To enhance the ambiance use black candles, place them on a mirror and sprinkle table confetti on the mirror just magic. Black&White balloons can be placed almost anywhere, and are easy and cheap to purchase, streamers also work well.
3.  Tableware.  Try using a black table cloth, with white plates, cups and saucers, all china will set of the cloth, white napkins, large white trays to serve the food.
4. Food.  Not all the food can be white it will depend what sort of meal you are serving. You will need to use your imagination, white bread, rice, white soups, white fish, chicken potatoes lots of choice,  for sweet vanilla ice cream,and white chocolate with white coffee. You could use any meat in a black bean sauce, dark rye bread,and dark chocolate and black coffee to finish.
5. Drink.  To reflect the theme of the party is a great idea. Since we are working with black&white, you need to use your imagination, and create drinks with a black& white theme  Chocolate martinis, white and black Russians, your call experiment it could be fun, but do not get to tipsy before the guests arrive.
6. Attire Men.  This is the make or break party piece. You will have asked your guests on the invitation what to wear. For both men and women it must be black and white without exception. Depending wether its casual or more formal.If its to be more formal than casual,  the men will need to wear a Jacket. The best match of course is a white Jacket and black trousers, black shirt, and if you have them white shoes, would really set of the black&white theme.
7. Attire Women. Wow the sky’s the limit, black skirt, white top, black stockings, white shoes, that little black dress with a white belt, the white and black variations are end less.
8. Music.  You will again have to use your imagination, and keep in the theme of black&white, Michael Jackson’s” Black or White” AC/DC”s “Back in Black” Billy Idol”s “White Wedding” and Paul McCartney”s “Ebony and Ivory” “Elvis Costello “Black&White World” and if its Xmas time the best of all the age old classic “White Christmas”

Well just a few ideas to brighten up those weekends that have become much of a much ness. I am sure that you and your friends will derive as much pleasure from organizing, or attending.
